Accessibility statement
The Institute wants everyone to be able to read and use this website.
Last reviewed: October 2026.
What we have done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, and the menu opens and closes with the keyboard.
- Pages are built with headings, lists and landmarks so that screen readers can move through them in order.
- Text can be enlarged to 200 per cent without loss of content, and pages reflow to fit small screens.
- Text and background colours are chosen to meet recognised contrast levels.
- Links say where they lead; the site does not rely on colour alone to convey meaning.
- Nothing flashes, moves or plays by itself.
Standard
We aim to meet level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2.
Known limits
- Some older papers are offered as PDF files that were not prepared for screen readers. We will supply the text in another form on request.
- Portrait photographs are treated as decoration; each person's name and post are given in text beside the picture.
- Links to other websites lead to pages we do not control.
